NAEMT Foundation was founded in 1989 in Missouri as a 501(c)3 charitable organization for the following purpose.

    (1) developing and implementing educational training in 
    emergency trauma care for emergency medical technicians (EMTs)
    and paramedics; 

    (2) providing scholarships to persons who intend to pursue a career
    as an EMT or paramedic;

    (3) to conduct research in areas which would assist emergency
     medical services, EMTs and paramedics; and 

    (4) to provide charitable support to EMS providers or their families.
 
The NAEMT Foundation was established as exclusively charitable and educational and donations are tax deductible as charitable contributions.
