Peter T. Pons, MD is a Senior Technical Physician in the Emergency Department, Denver Health Medical Center (Denver General Hospital). Dr. Pons also serves as Professor of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Surgery, University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver Colorado. He completed his M.D. at New Jersey Medical School, Internship at Martland Hospital in Newark, New Jersey and Residency at Denver General/St. Anthony/St. Joseph Hospitals in Denver. Dr. Pons also contributes as an Associate Medical Director for PHTLS.
Dr. Pons is certified with the American Board of Emergency Medicine and has been the recipient of several awards for teaching, clinical excellence and leadership. He has contributed to over 100 books, chapters, journal articles, editorials and abstracts, holds several editorial and consulting positions and has lectured extensively throughout the United States and Internationally.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors and as Senior Examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine, the Advisory Council on First Aid and Safety for the American Red Cross, ABEM representative for the American College of Emergency Physicians, Task Force on Weapons of Mass Effect, Chair of the Disaster Committee, Denver Health Medical Center, and Board of Directors for the Colorado Trauma Institute.
