EMS Expo and NAEMT Co-host National Forum for State and Local EMS Associations

Oct 06, 2008

To strengthen the national infrastructure of associations representing and serving EMS practitioners, NAEMT and EMS Expo will be holding a forum in Las Vegas.

Background:

Throughout the country, many EMS associations have been established at the state and local levels to support EMS practitioners. These associations often struggle to develop and sustain membership and provide basic services to members. In some states,  no association exists that represents EMS practitioners. Although there are examples of successful EMS associations, many associations have very low membership numbers.

Purpose:

EMS Expo and NAEMT will co-host a national forum to bring together representatives of state and metro area EMS associations to address issues of mutual concern, exchange information about what works and what doesn’t, and develop solutions to common problems.

Goal:

To strengthen the national infrastructure of associations representing and serving EMS practitioners.

When/Where:

Thursday, October 16, 2008 from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. at EMS Expo in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Format:

A two-hour facilitated forum held as part of the EMS Expo program to discuss issues of mutual concern and consider resources that may be available or developed to assist these associations.
