LODD Handbook Published

The American Ambulance Association, American Medical Response and the National EMS Memorial Service today announced the publication of the “Line of Duty Death Handbook.”
The American Ambulance Association, American Medical Response and the National EMS Memorial Service today announced the publication of the “Line of Duty Death Handbook.” AAA, AMR and NEMSMS recognized, through their experiences with line of duty deaths, that many agencies have no policies or guidelines in place to deal with the worst should a LODD strike. The Duty Death Handbook has been created as a public service to the EMS community in the hopes it will assist in preplanning for such an event and/or aid such agencies at a time on loss.

The handbook is offered as a guide only and is meant to be adopted into an agencies current policies & procedures and incorporate its other traditions. This on-line publication is available to the EMS community by the editors free of charge; however they suggest a donation be made to the National EMS Memorial Service. The Handbook may be downloaded from the American Ambulance Association or the National EMS Memorial Service websites:
