Register now for EMS on the Hill Day 2013, to be Held Prior to EMS Today

Nov 18, 2012

NAEMT encourages all EMS leaders, practitioners and media to mark their calendars for EMS on the Hill Day 2013, which will be held March 5-6 in Washington, D.C. The event will be held immediately prior to EMS Today, the annual JEMS conference and exhibition.

All EMS professionals from across the nation are invited to participate in the event, where they can personally meet with their Congressional representatives to let them know about challenges in providing emergency medical care, and to advocate for the passage of key EMS legislation.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and work with the top EMS leadership from across the country and learn how to effectively advocate on behalf of EMS. What they learn from their experience at EMS on the Hill Day can be applied locally to benefit their EMS agencies and communities.

Program Highlights

March 5
— Attendees meet with other participants and attend an informative pre-Hill visit briefing, followed by a networking reception.

March 6 — Participants attend scheduled appointments with their Senate and House leaders and their staff to discuss the challenges they face as EMS professionals, and the EMS legislation that can help – and then enjoy a post-Hill visit reception.

The Renaissance Plaza Hotel - located next to the Washington Convention Center, the site for EMS Today - will serve as headquarters.

“EMS on the Hill Day has turned out to be one of the largest venues which allow EMS practitioners direct access to their elected federal leaders,” says Don Lundy, B.S., NREMT-P, 2013-2014 NAEMT President. “It’s a time to thank them for the work they do, educate them on how EMS improves the quality of life in their district for all of their citizens, and ask them for their assistance on the important issues effecting EMS nationally and within their community. We encourage all EMS leaders and practitioners to attend this important event.”
