The Transportation Research Board’s National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) has released a report of its study, "Emergency Medical Services Response to Motor Vehicle Crashes in Rural Areas." Information synthesized in the study was acquired through literature review, surveys of 14 state offices of EMS and state departments of transportation, and follow-up interviews with selected agencies.
