On July 22, NAEMT launched an advocacy campaign asking members to contact their Senators and Representative to request support for a comprehensive workplace violence prevention plan for EMS.
S. 851 and
H.R. 1309, the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act represents a long overdue change to protect America’s caring professions, including EMS. To date, nearly 1,800 messages have been sent to members of Congress and a total of 211 congressional cosponsors were added. On behalf of all EMS practitioners across the country, we are sincerely grateful for the efforts of our members who contributed to this impactful result.
Please continue these efforts! If you haven’t already, please send an email to your members of Congress using the
Online Legislative Service.
