The NAEMT Board of Directors approved the formation of the Affiliate Advisory Council (AAC) in March 2008. The AAC replaces the Board of Governors, which was eliminated as a result of the 2007 bylaws changes. Doug Meyer, NAEMT representative for the Kansas EMS Association, is the council’s first chairman.
The Board established the AAC to provide advice and guidance to the Board on issues of concern to the EMS community and on ways that NAEMT can strengthen and expand its support to EMS providers nationwide.
Participation on the Advisory Council is open to representatives from any association that has a formal affiliate relationship with NAEMT.
The AAC meets annually face-to-face during the NAEMT Annual Meeting and conducts its other meetings by conference call throughout the year.
