Ed lives in San Francisco, California, where he is a paramedic captain with the San Francisco Fire Department. A paramedic since 1987, Ed is currently assigned to the SFFD EMS Academy, where he serves as primary instructor for the department’s EMT program and assists as an instructor for the paramedic program.

Ed has been the San Francisco Paramedic Association’s CFO and director since 1997, and he oversees the success of the SFPA’s financial operations. Ed also serves as an AHA Regional Faculty member in ACLS, PALS and BLS.

Previously, Ed served one term on the National Paramedic Society’s executive council and has worked as the general manager of Charter Ambulance.
