Slattery has been involved in EMS for more than 40 years, including 27 years on the city of Taunton 911 Ambulance. In 1982, he helped organize the NAEMT conference hosted in Boston, which was the first conference to show a profit. Slattery is president of the Massachusetts EMT Association and the acting executive director for Southeastern Massachusetts EMS Council. He served as acting director of Region V EMS for one year and has spent the past three years with the town of Middleboro 911 Ambulance.
