Connie has been involved with EMS since 1982, when she became a volunteer EMT in rural Kansas. She has been a Paramedic since 1989 and currently works as an EMS Captain for Johnson County Med-Act in Olathe, Kansas.

Connie is a past president of the Kansas EMS Association and president of the Heartland EMS Coalition.  Connie has been a part of NAEMT Leadership since 1993. She served as the Kansas representative to the NAEMT Board of Governors from 1993 to 2000, and has served as a member of the Board of Directors since 1997.
