Don Lundy, BHS, NREMT-P, currently serves as EMS director for Charleston County EMS overseeing a department of 165, covering 1100 square miles in a coastal community with a daytime population of 600,000. With over 34 years of experience in the EMS field, he has directed large municipal and small rural services as well as helicopter operations.
Don is Chairman of the South Carolina EMS Advisory Committee, Chairman of The Lowcountry Regional EMS Council, member of the State EMS Training Committee and Past President of the South Carolina EMS Association, still serving on the executive board.
Don is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina with a degree in Health Care Administration and speaks nationally on EMS medical and operational issues, medical technology and work ethics. He serves as an instructor at the National Fire Academy’s EMS program and has lectured at the University of Maryland Baltimore Campus’s EMS program.
Don is the President of the Board of the Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy and a member of the Charleston Lions Club. He also serves as Chairman of Board 9-a of the South Carolina Foster Care Review Board. He and his wife have one son, Robert and 31 foster children.
