James (Jim) A. Judge II has worked in EMS for more than 38 years and has been a member of NAEMT since 1991.
Since 2001, Jim has served as Executive Director for award-winning Lake Emergency Medical Services, Mount Dora, Florida, where he provides leadership and develops strategic plans to advance the mission and objectives of Lake EMS, which has an annual budget of more than $27 million and provides prehospital emergency medical care to the residents and visitors over nearly 1,800 square miles.
In his role, Jim facilitates growth of the organization, which currently operates 35 Advanced Life Support transport and emergency response units including a state-of-the-art Communications Center responsible for handling all fire and EMS dispatch services for Lake County.
He holds a Bachelor of Public Administration Degree (Cum Laude) from Barry University, Miami, and has attended numerous courses in Disaster Preparedness, Radiological and Biohazardous Training, Incident Command, Hurricane Preparedness and other Emergency Services/Public Safety related topics.
A few of the many leadership roles in which Jim has served include as President, Florida Ambulance Association; Florida-6 Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) Board Member; and Past President of Florida Association of County Emergency Medical Services.
He also is involved in Lake and Sumter County March of Dimes, and has served as Vice Chair, Lake and Sumter County United Way, the Board of Regents – Leadership Lake County, and Past President, Lake-Sumter Community College Foundation.
Jim regularly presents public safety topics at local, state and national conferences, including ESCAPE Conference in West Virginia; Florida State Elders Affairs Conference; ECCU Conference Presenting the 2005 First-Aid Guidelines; National Hurricane Conferences; Florida Governors Hurricane Conferences; Florida Emergency Preparedness Conference and ZOLL Medical Conference. He presents weekly topics on EMS to community groups, service organizations, local Chambers of Commerce, Lake and Sumter County Boards of County Commissioners and volunteer groups.
