Sue is a certified EMT-B in Nebraska as well as being an NREMT-B. She is the president of the Schuyler, Nebraska, Fire Department, and she is a previous EMT of the Year in Nebraska.

Sue serves as a city councilman in Schuyler. Her EMS leadership experience includes being a past EMS squad director and serving as an educator for the PHTLS program. Sue is also active in the  Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium.
