NAEMT Members Identify Top Concerns

Representation for EMS at the national level, EMS funding, national certification and pay and benefits are the issues NAEMT members would like to see the association speak out on in the coming year, according to a survey conducted at the NAEMT Annual Meeting in Las Vegas.

One hundred twenty-six members responded to the survey, which asked for opinions on 10 questions relating to the association.

Fifty-three percent of respondents thought NAEMT is doing an “excellent” job as the oldest and largest EMS member organization, while 37 percent thought the association was doing a “good” job. Ten percent of respondents didn’t know how NAEMT was doing.

Respondents were also asked to rate what benefits they would like to see
NAEMT provide. In order of importance, these were:

    • the NAEMT newsletter;
    • an NAEMT salary survey;
    • NAEMT educational programs; and
    • NAEMT novelty items.

     • malpractice liability insurance;
    • accidental death and dismemberment insurance;
    • life insurance;
