Dear Members,
A true gift has been given to all EMS practitioners this week… the Field EMS Bill has been introduced in the U.S. Senate as S. 2400, Field Innovation Act by Senators Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) and Tim Johnson (D-S.D.). What a wonderful show of support during EMS Week and what an exciting time to be in EMS!

H.R. 809, the Field EMS
Quality, Innovation and Cost‐Effectiveness
Improvement Act (Field
EMS Bill) was
introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on February 26, 2013, by
Congressman Larry Bucshon (R-Ind.). From that point on… our members,
committees, state advocacy coordinators and leadership have worked tirelessly
to obtain over 30 House co-sponsors and lay the groundwork for Senate
introduction.
I thank all of you for bringing this important legislation
to the Senate floor – those who have actively contributed by educating your congressional
representatives, and those who have supported our association through membership.
We wouldn’t be here without you!
Happy EMS Week!
