Attend EMS Policy Summit at EMS Today

Feb 19, 2010

Advocates for EMS, in which NAEMT is a stakeholder, is holding a "Super Session" at EMS Today on Thursday, March 4, from 3-5 p.m. in the Baltimore Convention Center, Room 350.

The EMS Policy Summit will feature AEMS Board Member Jason Zigmont, MA, NREMT-P and AEMS President Kurt Krumperman. It will address how policies formed in Washington affect the everyday EMS provider. At the summit, learn how first responder grant funding, Medicare reimbursement rates, healthcare reform, EMS workforce issues and grant funds at the Department of Health and Human Services - among many other policy issues - affect EMS practitioners throughout the country.

Every practitioner has a unique story to tell their members of Congress and can make a positive impact on the decisions made by lawmakers. At the summit, you can learn about the process and how you can make a difference and interact with decision makers in Washington. The session will include roundtable discussions with federal agencies and a federal legislative update. Previous EMS Summits have lead to both policy and law changes, so your voice does count!

The session will be followed by a reception from 5-6 p.m. in the Camden Lobby right outside Room 350. View details about EMS Today at www.emstoday.com.
