EMS Safety Course Chair to Represent NAEMT on EMS Culture of Safety Steering Committee

Jan 17, 2011

Glenn Luedtke, chair of NAEMT’s EMS Safety Program Committee, will represent NAEMT on the EMS Culture of Safety Project Steering Committee.

The committee has been formed as a result of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) being awarded a cooperative agreement from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) to coordinate the development and promotion of a National EMS “Culture of Safety” Strategy. The product of this three-year project will be the development and dissemination of a document that identifies the current state of EMS safety issues, and recommendations for the improvement of future EMS safety practices. The first step of this project is the formation of the steering committee of national EMS stakeholders, which will oversee the development of this document over the next three years.

Luedtke recently retired as Director of EMS, Sussex County EMS, Delaware. He is one of the founding members of NAEMT and is an experienced EMS instructor, lecturer and author, with a focus on the topic of safety.
