NAEMT Reaches Out to Japanese Quake Victims

Mar 11, 2011

With the fifth largest earthquake ever devastating Japan, NAEMT has sent heartfelt well wishes to our affiliate, the Japanese Paramedic Association, and to all those who are suffering in the aftermath of the quake, through this letter by Connie Meyer, NAEMT President.

Dear Giko:

On behalf of the members of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, please accept our deepest condolences to the victims and their families of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that just hit Japan. Our prayers are with the people of Japan and the members of the Japanese Paramedics Association during this time of crisis and loss.

Please let us know how NAEMT can assist the EMS effort in Japan as your country works to recover from this tragedy, including information on charities to which people can contribute. Our thoughts are with all of you.

Sincerely,

Connie Meyer
NAEMT President

Members of the international EMS community also are hosting a live Internet radio broadcast regarding tsunami preparations and response. The broadcast will have guests from Japan, Australia, New Zealand, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon and California. This will be a forum for those preparing to hear from each other and those already hit, as well as a way for interested people to listen in and answer questions.
