The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) released the 2011-2012 Area Resource File(ARF). The ARF is a searchable database with more than 6,000 variables for each of the nation's counties. ARF includes information on health facilities, health professions, measures of resource scarcity, health status, economic activity, health training programs, and socioeconomic and environmental characteristics. The basic file contains geographic codes and descriptors that can be linked to many other files to aggregate counties into various geographic groupings.
