NAEMT Endorses The Hartford Consensus

Feb 05, 2014

In an official letter to Dr. Lenworth Jacobs, professor and chair of the Department of Traumatology & Emergency Medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center, Hartford Hospital, the NAEMT Board of Directors provided its endorsement of the Hartford Consensus. The Board voted unanimously in support of the Consensus at the recommendation of NAEMT’s Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Committee.

Recommendations of the Hartford Consensus have been fully incorporated into NAEMT’s Law Enforcement and First Response Tactical Casualty Care (LEFR-TCC) course, and NAEMT is working to ensure that the Hartford Consensus is readily available to all EMS professionals, particularly those involved in training, through all of our media platforms. We appreciate the participation of Dr. Norman McSwain, medical director of NAEMT’s PHTLS Committee, in the formation of the Hartford Consensus.
