Lakeland Fire Department (LFD) announced in a press release that as of July 31, 2014, every one of its 141 emergency response personnel are certified in Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), a program designed by NAEMT's PHTLS Committee. Lakeland is one of the few fire departments in the region to provide PHTLS to both Paramedics and EMTs, to continue the exceptional level of emergency medical care provided in their community.
