Rep. Kinzinger on Committee Passage of Veteran EMT Bill

Apr 28, 2016

[Press release issued by Rep. Kinzinger]

WASHINGTON, DC – This morning [4/27], the full Energy and Commerce Committee reconvened to hold markups on a series of bills that will be considered on the House Floor.  Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) made the following statement after his bill, H.R. 1818, the Veteran Emergency Medical Technician Support Act, passed through Committee:

“This bill is good for our veterans and good for our communities.  I’m proud to see it making its way to the House Floor, and glad to have the support of my Committee colleagues.  H.R.1818 helps military EMTs meet the requirements to become civilian EMTs.  We are fortunate to have members in our communities who feel called to serve and who want to continue to serve, and this bill streamlines the process and helps veterans get these important jobs.”
