On October 13, CMS announced the Medicare Ambulance Inflation Factor (AIF) for calendar year 2022. CMS indicated that the Ambulance Inflation Factor for calendar year 2022 will be 5.1%. This is the largest inflation update since the implementation of the current Medicare Ambulance Fee Schedule in April 2002.  This is also the second-largest annual increase on record, topped only by the 5.2% increase in 1990.
