"Mapping The Future Of EMS" – 2013 Annual Report

May 09, 2014

Dear NAEMT Members:

It is my distinct pleasure to share with you the NAEMT 2013 Annual Report.

It is certainly an exciting time to be in EMS! In 2013, we witnessed changes in our nation's healthcare system that are fueling innovations and shifting the way that medical care is delivered and paid for - these changes pose both challenges and opportunities for EMS. With the continued development of alternate EMS delivery models, such as Mobile Integrated Healthcare and Community Paramedicine, hospitals and health insurers increasingly look to EMS to take on additional responsibilities and fill the healthcare gaps that are forming in communities throughout the United States.

With these changes in mind, the theme of our annual report is "Mapping the Future of EMS." Members working on behalf of EMS and our association contributed to a very successful year for NAEMT in 2013. By preparing our EMS workforce with high quality education, supporting innovations in EMS, and advocating for the resources needed to meet the future needs of our patients and communities, we helped to map the future of our profession and patient care. I encourage you to read about our activities and be proud of what our association has accomplished.

These accomplishments and our ongoing success are not possible without the dedicated efforts of our members. On behalf of the NAEMT Board of Directors, please accept our thanks and gratitude for your continued support of NAEMT.

Sincerely,

Don Lundy, BS, NREMT-P
